P Street Building
DGS Natural Resources Headquarters, P Street
The 20-story P Street Building will serve as the Department of Natural Resources’ new headquarters. The tower, which will also encompass a 300 seat auditorium, will be the workplace of 3,500 state employees.
The property is designed to meet LEED Platinum and net-zero energy standards, with such sustainable building features as radiant floor heating and chilled beams, as well as reclaimed water systems. The building is expected to perform at an Energy Use Intensity (EUI) of no more than 30 kBtu/sf/year and use at least 50 percent less water than a typical, comparable office building. It will operate using 100% solar energy through the Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD).
